Title: Proof the Bible/scriptures is the inspired word of God

Check these links out: To learn about Noah's ark, Sodom and Gomorrah, the Ark of the Covenant, the Red Sea crossing etc. with the discoveries from Ron Wyatt go to: http://www.arkdiscovery.com To check out a list of Messianic prophecies fulfilled by Yeshua HaMashiach/Jesus Christ go to: http://members.tripod.com/lastdayscalendar/messianic_prophecies.htm and http://www.jesus-is-lord.com/messiah.htm The anchor stones or drogue stones are an amazing find that goes along with Noah's ark. Some critics think that the ropes wouldn't hold those large stones. Well, yes they can. Ropes when put in a twisted way can hold a very large amount of weight. The holes for the ropes will fit massive ropes. Those who seek the truth shall find it! The evidence is here for the inspired Bible/scriptures of elohim/God. Those who claim "Bible objections" or Bible contradictions, are really just misunderstanding the Bible/scriptures. If you seek the truth and read the text in context, you will find answers. A good book to read on this subject is: "The New Evidence that Demands a Verdict" by Josh McDowell. Also a good book is, "The Case for Christ" by Lee Strobel Praise Yah for His truth and awesome discoveries in these end times! More points that the scriptures are inspired are: Job 38:14 talks about "springs of the sea." It wasn't until 1977 that scientists discovered that there were springs in the sea. Job 38:24 talks about, "By what way is the light parted, which scattereth the east wind upon the earth?" This shows that light (heat from sun's rays) scatters or causes wind upon the earth. Today scientists know that when air is heated up it causes that hot air to rise, and the cold air to move in, causing wind! As a side note, in the video I mentioned under the Easter bunny etc. that it was mithraism sun-god worship. Actually, that was meant for the Dec. 25th sun-god worship festival. Easter is built around Ishtar fertility goddess worship rites. Obey the Lev. 23 eternal feast days instead! Like Passover, Unleavened Bread, Sukkot, etc. ****check out my 'white colored' video response below this for "the proof of prophecy." It shows incredible fulfilled prophecies in the Bible! New to the shop :: 11-2-2010

por | | 0 comentarios

A few things listed last week, and a couple of new photos for older listings. I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out, especially the Blush Set - rose quartz is so difficult to photograph! I'm also trying to push to get more things made and listed before the holidays (seriously, how did it get to be November??). Thanksgiving is a few weeks away, and I'm starting to panic.

And before I sign off for the day, I did a (rather lengthy) interview with Jescalyn of PeachHoneyLove. Jess took my Color Rockstar class a couple of months ago, and it's was great to meet her. So, when she asked if I would do an interview, I was super flattered. If you've ever wondered about how I got my start, head on over to her blog!

A Necklace a Day - Six

Peacock Bead Palette

Although I love putting together trios of beads every months for Bead Color Triads, I don’t often have the time to put them to good use. Sometimes the beads I use to make a palette come together are ‘reserved’ for something else - an idea for a project that may or may not be completed one distant day.

This month, I decided it was time show how a recent bead palette really would look in a finished piece. Luckily, October’s subject was peacock feathers, and the bead choices were awesome.

I mixed together two of the palettes, starting with some brown grooved rectangles, Capri blue crystals, and matte black magatamas. I added golden amber seed beads with a beautiful warm glow, and light aqua fire polish rounds to add a little bulk.

Groovy Peacock Necklace by The Sage's Cupboard

Groovy Peacock Necklace

These groovy rectangles have been waiting around a long time for me to get a little inspiration. I finally decided it was time to just use them, as is, and stop worrying about whether or not a better idea might suddenly jump out of the shadows. I strung them with a few crystals, then used my favorite quick stitch - reverse daisy chain - to make some straps and voila! A new necklace with lots of sparkle is done.

If you’re trying to tackle an overflowing bead stash, you’ve just got to jump in and do it. What kinds of beads are you holding onto for lack of inspiration?

Chimera Necklace

The Last Chimera by D. Hellandbrand
The Last Chimera

When Zeus banished the Titans to Tartarus in the Greek myth, the giants took their revenge by sending forth their monstrous children to terrorize the realm of the new gods. Gaia gave birth to the serpent Typhon, and though he would also be defeated by Zeus, he was able to wreak much havoc on the world, and sired three more terrible creatues: Cerberus, Hydra and Chimera.

These three-headed beasts are well known in Greek legends, and are still favorite monsters in many fantasy stories. The least well known is the Chimera, though it is arguably the most interesting of Typhon‘s children. With the heads of a dragon, a lion, and a goat, this monster is often depicted as female. In some versions of the legend, the Chimera was the mother of the Sphinx.

In modern art and stories, the anatomy of the Chimera has taken on many different forms. A Chimeric Creature is a blending of three monsters and animals, sometimes with multiple heads, and often bearing the wings and tail of a dragon.

The Inspiration:

Before I took up bead weaving, I collected vintage acrylic and lucite beads, and used them to create tapestries of bead strands to decorate my home. After many moves and encounters with kids, some of them are a bit disheveled. One that has survived completely intact is made entirely with red and black beads. It’s one of my favorites.

Like any decoration that hangs around for a long time, I had started to take my bead tapestries for granted. The red and black strands caught my attention one day, and I wanted to refresh my interest by making a piece of jewelry with the same elements. When I thought of the red and black together, I thought it would be fun to create a tribute to the mythical Chimera, using the traditional three headed version as inspiration.

Chimera Bead Palette

The Beads:

I started with three shades of 11/0 seed beads - light amber for the lion, Siam ruby for the dragon, and opaque black for the goat. For accents, I combined two mixtures of Fire Designs Furnace Glass beads - Queen of Hearts and Strawberry Shortcake. I selected my favorites in red, black and brown from this new mixture. I had a hard time choosing, and took a long while to create a balance between the single colored beads, and those with striped accents. I also added mixed strands of Czech fire polish beads in amber, jet and garnet, and a homemade mixture of hex cuts and Toho™ triangles in my Chimeric color palette.

Chimera Necklace Pendant Detail

The Beadwork:

I have always been a huge admirer of Margie Deeb’s Rainforest Cascade necklace, with it’s luscious strands of beads. I think most bead lovers can relate to the intense craving that thick strands of beads can induce. Although I love to look at them, I’m usually reluctant to use bare seed bead strands in my designs. My seed beads call out to be woven! So I sketched out a design that would have the same cascading feel that I liked, but used the tiny beads in a more structured way.

Chimera Beadwork Necklace - The Sage's Cupboard

To create a pendant, I used black hex cuts to make a tapered base, then added 17 strands of wide fringe. Each of the 17 strands ends with a cane glass bead, and has long fronds of seed beads ending with hex cuts or fire polish beads. To add some depth to the fringe, I mixed my original three seed bead colors with color-lined seed beads in dark amber brown, mauve and jet black. The lion colored fringe is at the center, so that the outer colors match up with the tubular peyote rope. I love the way the wide fringe has elements of both beadweaving and multi-strand, and the furnace glass adds just the right amount of texture. I almost don’t want to let this piece go!

I would like to thank Artbeads.com for providing the Fire Designs beads used in this piece. Inspirational Beading has not received paid compensation for including Artbeads.com products or reviews in this blog post. I have shared my honest opinions about the products used in this design.

A mistake

por | | 0 comentarios

Personal travel photos + a texture overlay from Kim Klassen

I totally screwed up yesterday. Well, I screwed up a little while ago and did something I wasn't suppose to, but it was brought to my attention yesterday. The matter's been resolved, and the manner in which it was brought up was gentle and private, but I still feel like a jerk. A jerk and a hypocrite, and there's only myself to blame.

I had a Tip Share for today, but I'm going to put it off for a week or so; I'm a little distracted, and I'm on a gift-making deadline. Instead, I thought I'd share some photos of one of my favorite places - Waikiki - in an effort to lift the spirits. Oh, how I wish I was headed there soon; I like floating in the ocean and daydreaming. I'll be heading in the exact opposite direction in a week, but I'll be thinking of trade winds.

See you tomorrow.

Beading Tutorial: Two-drop Peyote Cuff

por | | 0 comentarios

Threads to the Past - Traditional Native Artwork

One of the most important stitches that any beadweaver will learn is the versatile and endlessly useful peyote stitch. Also called gourd stitch, the seemingly simple pick-up-one-skip-one pattern can be one of the most frustrating to master. Although the basic concept is easy enough to understand, finding the right tension and making the beads go where they should takes a lot of practice.

For first time bead weavers, I always recommend the two-bead version, or two-drop peyote stitch, which follows the exact same pick-up-stitch pattern, but is much easier to handle. By using two beads per stitch instead of one, the beadwork is less likely to curve, sway and twist. You can also create wider pieces of flat beadwork much quicker with two-drop peyote, because you're picking more beads per stitch.

Embellished Nudibranch Peyote Cuff

To make a wide cuff bracelet: Select one or more colors of 11/o seed beads, and about 2 yards of thread suitable for beading, such as Nymo or Fireline. Thread a beading needle, and pick up one seed bead. Slide it down until there is about an 8 inch tail, and stitch back up through the bead to form a stopper.

Pick up any number of seed beads divisible by 4 - but not so many that stitching will be difficult. 24 beads is a great number for a basic cuff bracelet. Slide the beads down to the stopper, and turn the beadwork so that the stop-bead is at the top.

Pick up 2 seed beads and slide them over the needle, but do not push them down to the main beadwork. Grasp the bottom 4 seed beads from the original 24 with your left thumb and forefinger, making sure that the entire strand is snug against the stopper. With the needle in your right hand, skip the first two beads, and stitch up through the 3rd and 4th seed bead. Pull the thread gently until the new beads are secure against the beadwork.

Two-drop Peyote Stitch Tutorial

You should now have a little square of 4 seed beads at the bottom of the beadwork. This completes the first stitch. Pick up 2 more seed beads, and perform another peyote stitch: Grasp the beadwork firmly, and skip the next two beads in the strand, stitching up through the following two. Gently pull the thread tight, and make sure the new beads are snug.

Two-Drop Peyote Stitch Tutorial

Continue adding seed beads two at a time until your thread exits the top of the bead strand - do not stitch through the stop-bead. Turn the beadwork over again, so that the stop-bead is at the bottom, and the first row of beads is to your left.

Pick up 2 seed beads, and stitch up through the two raised beads in the previous row. Pull the thread tight. Continue adding beads in this manner, flipping the beadwork to start each new row.

To add new thread, remove the needle when there is about 4 inches of thread remaining at the end of a row. Attach a stop bead to a new length of thread, and stitch into the beadwork at least 6 beads down from your last stitch. Exit from the same beads as your previous thread. Weave the old thread into the beadwork and trim. Pick up the new thread, and continue stitching as before.

When the beadwork is the desired length, complete the last row, making sure that your working thread is exiting from the opposite side as the original stop bead, so that the rows are even. Use the remaining thread, and the original tail, to attach each half of a clasp.

Monster Mash - Beaded Cuff

If desired, you can use your favorite fringe technique to embellish the top and bottom edge of the cuff, which will help protect the threads. My Monster Mash cuff has straight fringe using 2-5 seed beads at random.

Give it a try! Two-drop peyote is a great introduction to basic flat beadweaving, and is perfect for one of a kind bracelets!

Inspiration Tip: Sharing Etsy Treasuries

por | | 0 comentarios

Coral and Chartreuse Treasury by bstudio.etsy.com

Every week, I search through the zillions of Etsy listings, hunting for 16 amazing pieces of jewelry or beaded art. Using Etsy’s Poster Sketch tool, I share my finds here on Inspirational Beading. The entire process is a great way to meet other artists and to see new works of bead art.

Recently, I was asked to share the secret behind the Poster Sketch segments. The technique I use to share my Etsy finds can also be used to show completed treasuries on a blog or website. This process is great if you’ve been featured in a treasury, or have made one that you want to share, and you want to preserve it. Because Etsy treasuries expire, it’s nice to have a record of the short time in the spotlight. Making a treasury is a lot of work, and the results are often beautiful. Keeping and displaying your favorite treasuries can be a great source of inspiration in the future.

I’m going to list each step as clearly as possible, so if you’re just getting to know your computer or the internet, hopefully these instructions will be helpful to you. Note: I’m working with Windows and Mozilla Firefox, but these steps are pretty universal for PC users.

One: Open your internet browser and find the treasury that you wish to save. Scroll down so that all of the items are centered in the window, and nothing is cut off.

Two: Take a screenshot of the page to capture the treasury. Hold Ctrl on your keyboard, and press Print Screen [Prt Scr].

Pre-shrink the Page

Three: Open the Paint tool in Accessories. To avoid any unwanted border on your image, you can pre-shrink the page. Scroll down to the bottom right hand corner of the white canvas, and use your cursor to grab and drag the corner of the page up and to the left. Shrink the canvas so that it is smaller than a treasury.

Four: Paste the treasury screenshot onto the page. Hold Ctrl and press V. Save this page if you want - you can always delete it later.

Select the Cut Tool

Five: Click on the tool icon that shows a dotted rectangle. Use your mouse to draw a box around the treasury, only capturing what you want to show. Leave a few mm of boarder around the edge, and try to make all of the sides evenly spaced.

Cut Away Only the Treasury

Six: From the Edit drop down menu, select Cut, or press Ctrl + X. Open a New blank page in Paint. Do not save the changes to the current file.

Seven: Pre-shrink the canvas, and paste your treasury snippet onto the blank page [Ctrl + V]. Save the new file with a unique name - I usually use Month/Year/Curator. Be sure to save it as a JPEG file, not a BMP.

Now that you have this image of your treasury, you can upload it and share it almost anywhere you want to. A few good places to show off an Etsy treasury are your Facebook page, Flickr pool, and your blog. Most blog platforms allow you to upload and display images from your computer; but with a few extra steps, you can show off your treasury, and improve the look and SEO of your blog at the same time.

One: You will need to upload your treasury snippet to an image hosting site like Photobucket. Be sure to upload it to the correct album or sub-album. If necessary, relocate the file before completing the next steps.

Grabbing a URL from Photobucket

Two: Copy the Direct Link URL for your hosted image.

Three: At the point in your blog text where you want to display your treasury, type the following code:

ImageTitle

Replace YourImage with the URL for your picture. Replace ImageTitle with a name for your picture. The alt tag will create a text caption if viewers have HTML turned off, or if the image doesn’t load properly. You’ve probably seen these before. Instead of a picture, a box with a red X will appear, and if the alt tag is used, the name of the image will also show. The title tag will create the yellow caption that appears when you hover your cursor over an HTML image. Both of these tags can also help your picture and blog show up in search engines, so it’s a good idea to use relevant keywords in your image title.

You will need to add this code in the HTML editor of your blog platform. If you would like the image to be a clickable link to another destination, you can highlight the code, and use the link tool of your blog editor to add the destination URL. You can also add the code by hand. It will look like this:

ImageTitle

If you want to link back to the actual treasury that you are sharing, remember that Etsy treasuries eventually expire. Broken links aren’t good for SEO (Search Engine Optimization), so it’s a good idea to remove the link code after the treasury has expired.

The target=“_blank” code will make the link open in a new window (unless the viewer right clicks or has tabbed browsing set up). This will make sure that readers don’t lose track of your blog when checking out your link.

Four: Set the alignment for your image.

To center the picture between paragraphs, enter the HTML on a new line, and add paragraph tags to center it. It will look like this:

ImageTitle

You can also make the text of your blog post wrap around the image if it is on the left or right of the page. To do this, add the code to the first line of the paragraph where you would like the image to be. Replace

with

All About the Blues Treasury by SimpleSundries.etsy.com

for right hand images

or

for left hand images.

To make a handy reference of the HTML code, you can highlight and copy it, and save it to a text file, like Notepad or WordPad.

Now that you can preserve your favorite Etsy treasuries, there’s even more incentive to get out and try one. To find out when a new spot will open up, check in with the Treasury Clock on Craftopolis.com. It keeps track of Treasury Main and Treasury West, and provides a countdown to the next opening. Have fun!
