Lillian is a stunning and accurate example of bridal wear from the early forties. This lovely dress is stitched in a buttery golden silk charmeuse with an overlay of caramel lace. The silk under-dress is princess-line, five-gore skirt fitted closely at the bodice and waist and is sleeveless with a sweetheart neckline. The overdress adds an air of modesty with a princess-line bodice, wrist-length leg-o-mutton sleeves that fasten with 4 loop and button closures, a high rounded neckline and fastens down the front of the dirndl skirt with 58 self-covered loop and button closures. The overdress made of carmel colored floral embroidered net adds a formal note appropriate for a church wedding.
And, if you are looking for a great Prom Dress, Cocktail Dress or Bridesmaid Dress ... Check out the Vivinne Dress. Gorgeous beyond words!

Title: Garden railway: 10 scale miles MASSIVE: Drivers Eye View of Bekonscot Model Railway
More info at Become a fan of us on Facebook! http://www.facebook.com/bekonscot and http://www.bekonscot.co.uk The Gauge 1 model railway at Bekonscot Model Village, Bucks. It's a 10 scale mile model garden railway of 1/32 scale, in a 1/12 scale miniature village. The line was started circa 1929 and has been updated continuously for 80 years. We strapped a camera to the front of one of the engines and sent it off - we've added some subtitles so you can see what you're passing. Model railways rock. The huge model railway has evolved since those early years, from Bassett-Lowke LNER and GWR outline stock through to modern image British Rail - when at one time, class 47, class 37, Hymek, western class 53, intercity 125 and even DMU stock ran. In the early 1990s, interest in the railway's heritage regained, and it was decided to revert to a classic 1930s appearance. Therefore you'll now see classic GWR railmotors, EMU, GWR 94xx tank locos, LMS Jinty, SR Q Class and many more freelance locos on the route. The whole system is controlled by computer, interlocked with hundreds of relays for points and signal operation. Note that the signals are missing in this video, as they are currently all being refurbished. The complex trackwork around Maryloo station is controlled by a Westinghouse lever frame in the signal box (where this video begins and ends) when the signalman wants to intervene. This train was preset to run non-stop - but of course would need to stop if another train was in the block ahead of it. This video took four takes to get right - we had to be nimble with the manual signals to make sure no trains ahead of this one stopped progress, or made it wait on the single track sections! Usually there are 9 to 11 trains in operation at any one time; a selection of them are seen on this video. Perhaps we should get a Thomas The Tank Engine for the line...? We're in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire - which is on the Chiltern Railways route from London Marylebone to High Wycombe, Banbury and Birmingham. hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it! Guess who got stuck in a blizzard that dumped more than a foot of snow on the East Coast last weekend? That'd be me.
Luckily, I didn't have to sit at the airport for days on end. I got a few extra days at home with the kiddos, which we spent trying to build a wonky snowman (no, I didn't get a photo and I'm kicking myself for it), going to see Tangled, and having pajama day after pajama day. But I am so glad to be home.
I swear I'm not a grinch, but the holidays aren't really my favorite part of the year. It's always so busy and stressful that I come out the other side wishing for a vacation from my vacation. This year was even worse, as my sister's house is being renovated, so there were workers in the house right at 8am (seriously, you could set an alarm by these guys - they were prompt) before and after the holidays. So, there wasn't a lot of baking or decorating or sleeping in, and I missed that; I did get to spend lots of one-on-one time with my sister, though, which was awesome, and I made my first wreath (I'll share photos soon). Other than that, if you've never lived or dealt with a renovation, I can sum up the process in three words: dusty and noisy.
I tried to come home a few days early to relax, but then a blizzard came along and there went my plans. Oh, and I threw out my back doing I don't know what at the very beginning of my trip, so the holidays this year were literally painful for me. 90% of the photos I took are blurry because it hurt to lift the camera (oh, well), but I did get these shots. What they don't show are the 50mph winds and pelting snow. But it sure looked nice from inside!
My plans for New Year's Eve is to flop on the couch and do absolutely nothing but watch TV and eat junk food. How about you? How was everyone's Christmas?

Galvanized, or metallic, seed beads have often been the source of much frustration for bead weavers. Most beads coated this way loose their finish very quickly - sometimes just from contact with the skin. The result is that over time, instead of having a shiny, colorful piece of beadwork, you have a piece that is mostly clear with flecks of color.
The newer Duracoat galvanized coating by Miyuki is reported to have a stronger, wear resistant finish. Although the color and shine are not quite equal to traditional galvanized seed beads, neither matter if they just wipe off anyway. Still, the old style of metallic seed beads are available from other manufacturers, and even desirable, too.
Some beaders dont mind the loss of color - it does give the finished piece a sort of patina-like appearance. In one of the many beading books Ive read, the chapter on materials suggested that galvanized seed beads be used only for non-wearable art beadwork. Apart from the beaders fingers during construction, a beaded sculpture isnt likely to be rubbed clean of its finish.
There are other ways to get around this problem, if you cant resist something shiny, and have a huge stash of galvanized beads wanting to be used. A common solution is to place a small quantity of beads into a sealable bag, and spray in some Krylon lacquer or Aqua Net hairspray. After shaking the bag to distribute the sealer evenly, the beads will have a protective layer to hold the color in place.
But if you take issue with aerosol and products with fumes, another way to deal with the flaking finish is to hide it. You can use galvanized seed beads to create a base that will later be embellished so heavily that the coating cant be seen - flaked or not. Size 8/o and 6/o galvanized seed beads make a good base for double spiral rope, since the tightly packed rows of spirals completely cover the core.
I have a small stash of galvanized Czech seed beads that I bought before changing my taste for metals, and I often use them for experimental beadwork, to test stitches and create prototypes. Like many others, I dont mind the vintage look that the faded beads take on, and I have a few of these well worn experiments in my collection.
